The challenge
SafetyDriven ran its audits in Word documents, which led to formatting differences between submissions and extra time spent standardizing them during review. Score calculations were manual, and errors slowed quality assurance.
Separate Word files were used for the audit tool, interview tool and observation tool. That made it hard to keep information organized, and corrective action plans varied in format. Data analysis was limited too.
The solution
AuditSoft gave SafetyDriven one audit workflow with locked templates, so every audit follows the same format and the built-in rules prevent unauthorized changes. Interviews, observations and audits are in one system.
Scores are calculated automatically. SafetyDriven's staff review submitted audits in a simpler interface, and dashboards show trends and recurring issues.
Results
Automation has significantly cut the manual work of completing audits, especially score calculation and report generation. Built-in checks make sure required elements are complete before submission, which reduces follow-ups and review time.
Freed-up time means SafetyDriven staff spend more time giving one-on-one guidance to auditors and owner-operators, helping smaller companies reach COR certification.
With the time saved, I can now spend more time with owner-operators, helping them evaluate their safety program for COR audits.
