BCMSA: streamlining COR audits in British Columbia

The BC Municipal Safety Association (BCMSA) is an independent, non-profit organization that supports municipalities and their employees across British Columbia. Its COR program helps employers meet WorkSafeBC's standards.

COR-certified expected by year end, up from 48 when BCMSA started with AuditSoft

The challenge

BCMSA's previous software had worked well for years, but it needed more manual effort, and it didn't offer the detailed reporting and data insights BCMSA wanted. Its auditors found the old system hard to use effectively.

“We needed something more intuitive and user-friendly,” said Liz Kim, COR Specialist at BCMSA.

The solution

AuditSoft's interface made it easier for auditors to complete their work accurately, and it streamlined review for BCMSA's audit QA reviewers. It also captures, aggregates and analyzes audit data.

Members get an audit scorecard that shows strengths and areas to improve against industry benchmarks, and BCMSA gets a whole-program view of its performance.

Results

Auditors complete audits more quickly and with fewer errors. Audit data shows trends that help BCMSA make decisions to support its members.

BCMSA expects 60 organizations to be COR-certified by the end of the year, up from 48 when it started using AuditSoft.

The data insights we now get from AuditSoft are invaluable. We can clearly see performance trends and areas where organizations need more support.
